Construction Controller

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee the financial operations of our organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance, with a focus on ensuring accurate financial management across construction accounting and corporate environments. The Controller manages financial systems and ensures adherence to GAAP and other regulatory standards to support strategic decision-making and organizational growth. Duties Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing. Ensure accurate balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms. Prepare and review financial reports, including income statements, cash flow statements, and budget variance analyses. Manage cash flow and cash management activities to optimize liquidity. Lead regulatory reporting efforts in compliance with GAAP and other applicable standards. Conduct financial statement audits in collaboration with external auditors. Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard organizational assets. Coordinate budgeting processes and financial forecasting to support organizational planning. Supervise the preparation of journal entries involving double entry bookkeeping concepts. Monitor compliance with governmental regulations Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions such as revenue recognition or contractual obligations. Support continuous improvement of financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Oversee and handle conditional and unconditional payment waivers Oversee and handle and submit prevailing wage reports Requirements Proven experience in accounting roles with a strong background in construction and corporate accounting, Extensive knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements. Proficiency in financial software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms; experience with financial management tools is essential. Strong understanding of cash management strategies and account reconciliation procedures. Demonstrated ability in financial report writing, financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting. Expertise in technical accounting concepts including debits & credits, general ledger reconciliation, account analysis, and double entry bookkeeping. Excellent analytical skills with a solid grasp of financial concepts and principles such as balance sheet reconciliation and account reconciliation. Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred but not required.

Pay:

$75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
