Job Description
Are you a hands-on finance leader who thrives on building structure within a high-growth environment? As the Controller for MODE Renovation, you will be the operational finance leader for a $12.5M run-rate market leader. You will take full ownership of our internal financial performance, serving as the bridge between our day-to-day operations and our long-term strategic success. This is a high-impact role designed for a professional who can master the details of job costing while providing the high-level insights necessary to scale our "Last Honest Contractor" mission.
The Impact You'll Make Financial Leadership:
Own the full finance function, including P&L management, cash flow oversight, and end-to-end financial reporting.External Management:
Act as the primary point of contact for our outsourced accounting firm, actively validating and pressure-testing their output.Operational Accuracy:
Lead the monthly close process to ensure the complete accuracy and timeliness of all financials.Strategic Forecasting:
Drive budgeting and forecasting processes to provide clear visibility into performance versus plan.Margin Mastery:
Ensure precise job cost accounting, WIP reporting, and project-level profitability analysis.Actionable Insights:
Build reporting packages that translate complex data into clear strategies for sales, marketing, and operations.Process Excellence:
Implement and refine the controls, systems, and billing practices required to support a rapidly scaling business.What You Bring Experience:
Proven tenure as a Controller or senior finance leader within construction, home improvement, or project-based industries.Technical Expertise:
Deep knowledge of job costing, revenue recognition, and margin analysis.Systems Proficiency:
Experience with QuickBooks, Salesforce, or similar ERP and CRM platforms.Cash Flow Acumen:
A strong understanding of managing working capital in a high volume, project-based environment.Leadership Qualities:
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with non-financial stakeholders.Growth Mindset:
