Job Description

Controller EMCA Staff LLC Job Summary The Controller will manage an internal team, spanning accounting, payroll, human resources, and administrative finance functions. This role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring deep technical accounting expertise, operational awareness, and the ability to scale processes, while mentoring staff and supporting leadership decision-making. Direct financial activities, such as planning, procurement, and investments for all or part of an organization. Primary Job Duties Prepare financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, budget-to-actual comparisons, and reports required by regulatory agencies in a timely manner. Delegate authority for the receipt, disbursement, banking, protection, and custody of funds, securities, and financial instruments. Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, local, federal, and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards. Review company accounts and financial transactions to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements and statutes. Review and authorize requests for purchases and disbursements in accordance with company policies and procedures. Monitor and evaluate the performance of staff, recommending and implementing personnel actions, such as promotions, salary increases, and dismissals. Develop and maintain relationships with lenders, banking, insurance, and external accounting personnel to facilitate financial activities. Coordinate and direct the financial planning, budgeting, procurement, and investment activities of the organization. Develops finance organizational strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction, and establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives. Develops financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; identifying monetary resources; and developing action plans. Monitors financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances. Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities, such as budget administration, cash and credit management, and accounting. Accomplishes the finance and organization mission by completing related tasks as needed. Analyze the financial details of past, present, and expected operations to identify development opportunities and areas where improvement is needed. Advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions. Provide direction and assistance to other organizational units regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures, and efficient control and utilization of financial resources. Evaluate needs for procurement of funds and investment of surpluses and make appropriate recommendations. Lead staff training and development in budgeting and financial management areas. Oversee credit applications, credit limits, and collection of receivables. Monitor bank accounts, set up new accounts as necessary, and establish/review authorized limits for employees with banking access. Create and review contracts as required. Liaison and coordination with sales, processing, and manufacturing managers and staff for reporting needs. Other duties as they may be assigned. Education and Experience Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Economics Master's Degree (Preferred) CPA (Preferred) Experience in a senior management position. Solid GAAP and financial reporting technical skills. 8-10 years of finance and accounting management experience gained in a high-growth organization, and managing a team is a must, with examples of when they have demonstrated excellence in the workplace. Proven track record of success in facilitating organizational change and development within a growing organization. Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Strong mentoring and coaching experience with a team with diverse levels of expertise. Entrepreneurial team player who can multitask.

Salary & Benefits Range:
