Controller

Robert Half is seeking experienced Controller/ Consultant with a strong background in Auto/ Dealership accounting. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, implementing internal controls, and delivering timely, accurate financial reports that support the organization's dealership operations and strategic growth. This role will be located onsite in Hemet, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day dealership accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, banking, and reconciliations.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes and prepare financial statements tailored to dealership business needs.
• Ensure compliance with automotive industry accounting practices, manufacturer requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Serve as the primary liaison with auditors, tax advisors, and external partners.
• Analyze and present key financial metrics, cash flow, and forecasting to senior management.
• Monitor inventory, floorplan financing, and provide detailed reporting on vehicle sales and service department performance.
• Institute and maintain robust internal controls to ensure accuracy and prevent fraud.
• Supervise, train, and develop dealership accounting staff.
