Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to oversee critical financial operations and ensure compliance with industry standards. Based in Irvine, California, this role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong leadership skills to manage financial consolidations and month-end close processes. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute to process improvements as the organization continues to grow.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Oversee financial consolidations and ensure alignment with organizational standards.
- Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations and internal controls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations and leadership, to support financial objectives.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in a growing business environment.
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to reporting standards.
- Support audits, including DCAA compliance, by providing necessary documentation and insights.
- Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze data and create detailed financial reports.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure proper documentation of financial transactions.
- Drive initiatives to streamline accounting processes and improve internal workflows. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required; candidates with Finance or Economics degrees only will not be considered.
- Proven experience managing financial consolidations and month-end close processes.
- Demonstrated expertise in compliance with industry-specific regulations and reporting standards.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.
- Strong knowledge of DCAA compliance and financial statement audits.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, scaling environment.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership.
