$150,000 DOEBilingual Korean requiredWe are seeking a detail-oriented and process-driven Controller to lead month-end closing, financial reporting, and internal controls for a fast-growing multi-brand distribution business. This role will oversee the integrity of financial statements, ensure timely and accurate reporting, and partner cross-functionally to support operational and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate has strong GAAP knowledge, distribution/CPG experience, and hands-on experience managing complex retail accounting environments.Job Description1. Month-End Close & Financial ReportingLead and manage full month-end and year-end closing processPrepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliationsEnsure timely preparation of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)Maintain close calendar and improve closing efficiencyReview revenue recognition and COGS accuracy2. Retail & Distribution AccountingOversee accounting for major retail accounts (Costco, Ulta, Target, etc.)Monitor chargebacks, deductions, and promotional allowancesReview trade spend, co-op accruals, and TPD accountingEnsure accurate inventory valuation and reconciliationAnalyze gross margin by channel and brand3. Reporting & CompliancePrepare internal management reports and variance analysisSupport external audits and tax filingsEnsure GAAP compliance and strengthen internal controlsMaintain documentation for revenue, inventory, and expense policies4. Cash Flow & Working Capital ManagementMonitor AR aging and deduction exposurePartner with operations on inventory planning and reservesSupport forecasting and budget planning processAnalyze working capital trends5. Team & Process ImprovementSupervise accounting staff (if applicable)Improve ERP workflows and reporting automationImplement best practices in financial controlsSupport system upgrades and process optimizationQualificationsKorean Bilingual Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)5+ years of accounting experience2+ years in supervisory or managerial role preferredStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAPExperience in distribution, CPG, or retail accounting preferredStrong Excel skills (advanced functions required)ERP system experience requiredStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsPreferred ExperienceExperience handling retailer deductions and chargebacksExperience with inventory-heavy business modelsExperience with multi-entity or international operationsAudit experience (public accounting background a plus)Additional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
