Controller Job Description:
PrideStaff Financial is partnering with a local agricultural business who is seeking a Controller to join their team. The Controller will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for all aspects of accounting, finance, and information systems. The Controller will develop and manage the organization's financial well-being by providing insights, operating reports, and accounting services. The Controller plays a critical role in supporting growth, improving current operations, and positioning the organization to meet financial objectives. The ideal Controller will successfully manage finances of the business, employee relationships, and ensure compliance is upheld to the highest standards. The Controller position is a full-time, direct-hire position in Kettleman City, CA.
Controller Duties & Responsibilities:
Use Independent Judgement & Discretion to Maintain Compliance With Company Policies, Procedures, Accounting/Finance Standards & Current Federal, State & Local Laws Day-to-Day Direction of Accounting Functions, Reviewing Accounts Payable, Monitoring Accounts Receivable & Ensure GL Postings are Accurate & Coded to The Correct Departments, Including Proper Allocation of Direct Labor Related Costs Prepare & Maintain Accurate Daily Banking Schedule for Forwarding to President & CFO Ensure Timely Monthly & Annual Financial Closing Process, Including Analytical Review of The Results Compared to Budget Prepare First Draft of Monthly Financial Statements Prepare Income Tax Deposits According to The Applicable Deposit Schedule Direct all Financial, Accounting & Analysis Functions of the Company in Accordance With All Statutory Requirements & Appropriate Financial Management Practices Including Those Functions Relating to Payables, Receivables, Records Keeping, Cost Accounting, Collection Activities & Taxes Provide Reporting & Financial Analysis Support to Sales & Plant Production Departments as Needed Ensure Procedures Are in Place to Adequately Protect Company Assets Provide Analysis & Recommendations For Improved Profitability Manage the Annual Target Setting & Budgeting Processes & Assist CFO in The Implementation & Maintenance of a Continuous Forecasting for a Determined Time Period Evaluate The Overall Organization to Determine Strengths & Weaknesses Assist the CFO in Preparation of External Reports & Returns Including Income Tax, Property Tax & Various US Government Agency Census Data Requests Support The CFO in Asset Management Strategies, Cash Flow Forecasting, Cash Management & Financial Strategies Assist the CFO With Level One & Level Two Audits Provide Sales & Production Analysis to The Sales & Production Teams Other Duties That May be Required Based on Business Needs or as Assigned by

High School Diploma or Equivalent Required Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance is Required; CPA, CGMA or MBA is Preferred 7+ Years of Progressive Financial & Accounting Responsibilities With an Understanding of Food, Nuts & or Perishables is a Must Thorough Understanding of GAAP With Knowledge of Federal, State, Local Laws & Regulations Required Excellent Oral, Written & Presentation Communication Skills are Required Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel (Includes Advanced), Outlook & Word Extensive Knowledge of Computer Financial Systems With a
