Location:
Beverly Hills, CA (Hybrid - 3 days onsite per week) We are partnering with an independent entertainment company to identify a Corporate Controller to lead accounting operations and financial reporting across a dynamic, project-based environment. This is a highly visible role reporting directly to the CFO, offering the opportunity to build and enhance a best-in-class controllership function while partnering closely with executive leadership and production teams. Key Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Reporting Oversee full-cycle accounting including general ledger, AP, AR, and reconciliations Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes Prepare and review financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting and maintain strong internal controls Partner with Finance on budget vs. actuals analysis and management reporting Support divisional and project-level financial reporting Production & Project-Based Accounting Oversee accounting across multiple productions (scripted and unscripted) Partner with production teams on budget tracking and cost management Ensure proper cost allocation and capitalization of production spend Support tax credits, incentives, and international production considerations Compliance & Audit Manage external audits, tax filings, and third-party relationships Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations Oversee reporting requirements tied to credit facilities and obligations Cash Management Monitor cash flow across multiple entities Partner with leadership on funding strategies for ongoing productions Manage banking relationships and optimize liquidity Team Leadership & Systems Lead and mentor a small accounting team Evaluate and improve accounting systems, processes, and reporting tools Support ERP optimization and reporting structure enhancements Qualifications 10+ years of accounting experience, including leadership experience at the Controller or senior level Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise Experience in a mid-sized or high-growth environment with full-cycle ownership Background in entertainment, media, or production accounting strongly preferred Familiarity with project-based accounting, tax credits, and production finance CPA a plus but not required Advanced Excel and accounting systems experience
Target Compensation :
Base salary of $190k-$220k, plus bonus, plus strong benefits
