Full Job Description Position Summary:
We are looking for a driven, detail-focused, and highly organized Controller to join our leadership team in a fully onsite role. This position is ideal for a collaborative professional who excels in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, consistently delivers accurate results, and adapts easily to change. As the Controller, you will oversee all aspects of our financial operations, including accounting, compliance, reporting, payroll, tax, and internal controls. You will report to Vice President of Operations & Sales You will work closely with the Leadership Team to ensure the company's financial integrity and to support strategic decision-making that drives growth and efficiency.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of financial accounting, reporting, and internal controls for the manufacturing operations Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including accurate inventory valuation, cost of goods sold, and variance analysis Develop and maintain standard costing systems, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and routing standards in collaboration with Production and Engineering teams Lead manufacturing cost accounting initiatives, including labor, overhead, and material cost analysis, scrap tracking, and efficiency metrics Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, management reports, and KPI dashboards tailored for manufacturing operations Conduct detailed variance analysis (material, labor, overhead) and partner with operations leadership to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive continuous improvement Manage inventory control processes, cycle counts, physical inventories, and obsolescence reserves Work closely with the executive team on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and any industry-specific requirements Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team while fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture Communicate with Leadership — translating financial data into actionable operational insights Support external audits, bank relationships, and lender reporting requirements Evaluate and implement process improvements in ERP systems and financial tools to enhance efficiency and accuracyJob Requirements:
Collaborate with the Accounting Manager to ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements (e.g., balance sheets, income statements). Analyze budget performance and monitor actual spending versus projections, reporting variances to executive ownership. Oversee all tax-related working with Company CPA activities including federal, state, and local filings, ensuring compliance with evolving tax regulations. Work with the manager of the general ledger, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. Ensure compliance with all relevant financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements. Design and enforce internal control systems to safeguard assets and prevent errors, omissions, and fraud. Manage company debt and support loan negotiations and restructuring as needed. Remain current with financial regulations, market conditions, and industry best practices that impact the organization. Implement operational best practices. Insure timely and accurate reporting and analysis of monthly financial performance to ownership.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in contract manufacturing or electronics/precision machining/medical device manufacturing Familiarity with government contracting orITAR/ISO/AS9100
compliance Bachelor's degree in: Finance, Economics, or Business Administration with a focus in Finance Proven experience in financial leadership role, with hands-on management of accounting teams. Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail. Effective communicator with experience working cross-functionally and advising executive leadership. High level of integrity and dependability. Ability to make and implement crucial recommendations.Pay:
