Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee the accounting and financial operations of our manufacturing organization in Orange, California. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust internal controls, and driving operational efficiency. The Controller will collaborate closely with leadership and operational teams to support strategic initiatives and enhance business performance.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Oversee audits, coordinating with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate completion.
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets.
- Lead cost accounting functions, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
- Direct budgeting and forecasting processes, monitoring financial performance against plans and analyzing variances.
- Supervise inventory accounting, including cycle counts and physical inventory processes, ensuring accurate valuation and reserves.
- Collaborate with leadership and plant management to provide financial insights that guide strategic decision-making.
- Support the improvement and optimization of financial systems and processes within the organization.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team to build a high-performing department.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification or equivalent license.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of cost accounting principles and manufacturing financial processes.
- Strong understanding of internal controls and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in financial systems such as Oracle, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated leadership and team development experience.
- Advanced skills in financial modeling and Microsoft Excel.
