The Village Community Presbyterian Church is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant Financial Controller to support the daily financial operations of the church and its ministries. This role assists with accounting, reporting, payroll support, and donor records, helping ensure accuracy, transparency, and strong financial stewardship. Key Responsibilities Accounting & Bookkeeping Record and reconcile all income, including pledges, offerings, and online giving Prepare and process weekly bank and electronic deposits Maintain accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and designated funds Assist with payroll processing, benefits calculations, and leave tracking Financial Reporting & Donor Support Maintain accurate contribution records Prepare quarterly and annual donor statements Assist with monthly and quarterly financial reports Support budget preparation, audits, and regulatory reporting Administrative & Systems Support Maintain proficiency in church accounting software and systems Assist with internal controls and financial procedures Provide professional, confidential support for financial inquiries Team Collaboration Work closely with the Financial Controller and church staff Provide backup support for finance operations as needed Perform additional duties supporting church operations Qualifications Commitment to Christian faith and alignment with Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) values Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience) 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (nonprofit/church experience a plus) Proficiency in accounting software, Sage, and Microsoft Excel and Word Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality Excellent organizational and communication skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Benefits Medical plan Retirement plan Paid time off and holidays Opportunity to contribute to meaningful ministry work Supportive and collaborative work environment Work Schedule Full-time position Typical weekday office hours How to Apply Submit your resume and a brief cover letter through Indeed.
