The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in various accounting principles and practices, including GAAP, IFRS, and SOX compliance. This role is crucial for overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to support our organizational goals. The Financial Controller will play a key role in managing financial resources effectively while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and IFRS standards. Manage all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting. Ensure compliance with SOX regulations and other relevant governmental accounting standards. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accurate account reconciliations. Prepare regulatory reports and assist with audits as needed. Develop budgets and forecasts to guide financial planning and decision-making. Perform financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Implement effective cash management strategies to optimize liquidity. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero for efficient financial management. Provide technical accounting support and guidance on complex financial concepts. Skills Strong understanding of non-profit/governmental accounting principles. Proficiency in cash management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial report writing. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform detailed account analysis and financial analysis. Familiarity with double entry bookkeeping principles and general ledger reconciliation processes. Experience with payroll processing and regulatory reporting requirements. Proficient in using various financial software applications to enhance productivity (e.g., QuickBooks). Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in all financial documentation. Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders. Demonstrated financial acumen to make informed decisions that align with organizational objectives.
