  • Key Responsibilities Direct day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, and trust accounting Prepare, review, and interpret monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis initiatives Track cash flow and key financial performance indicators Ensure adherence to all applicable legal, regulatory, and tax requirements Develop, maintain, and strengthen internal controls and accounting processes Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax professionals, and banking relationships Lead, train, and support accounting staff, fostering accuracy and accountability Collaborate with leadership on financial planning, profitability analysis, and strategic decision-making Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline preferred; CPA designation is a plus Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment Solid understanding of legal accounting standards, including trust and client fund accounting Experience working with legal billing platforms; familiarity with Orion is a plus Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, macros, and dashboard reporting Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated discretion, integrity, and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information A bit about us:•Our client is looking for an experienced Controller to oversee the accounting and financial operations of a growing legal organization.
