Full Job Description Controller SUMMARY :
Pacific Ag Rentals is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the company's accounting operations during a period of continued growth. This role is responsible for leading the accounting function, supporting accurate and timely financial reporting, and contributing to the development of scalable financial processes across a multi-entity organization. The Controller will work closely with executive leadership to support financial planning, reporting, and operational decision-making. This position requires a hands-on accounting leader with strong technical expertise, experience managing teams, and the ability to operate effectively in a lean, growth-oriented environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations:
Provide leadership and direction to the accounting team, including setting priorities, assigning work, supporting professional development, and fostering accountability in alignment with company policies. Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting support, audit coordination, cost accounting, and multi-entity accounting. Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial records and reports in accordance with applicable accounting standards and internal controls. Support the implementation, optimization, and ongoing use of the company's ERP system (NetSuite preferred) to enhance reporting capabilities and operational efficiency. Partner with executive leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities. Maintain appropriate internal controls and assist with compliance, audit readiness, and documentation requirements. Oversee cash management activities, banking relationships, and lender reporting, as applicable. Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and billing teams to support accounts receivable processes, revenue recognition, and cost tracking. Identify and support opportunities for process improvement and efficiency through the use of technology and best practices. Promote consistent accounting practices across multiple entities and locations.

Experience:
CPA certification (required). 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in public accounting with an audit background. Experience leading or supporting audit engagements, including planning, coordination, and review activities. Demonstrated experience managing or mentoring accounting staff, including delegation of work and performance feedback. Strong technical accounting knowledge across month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, audit preparation, cost accounting, and multi-entity accounting. Experience producing accurate, well-documented financial statements and supporting internal controls. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite experience is strongly preferred. Experience supporting ERP implementations or system optimizations. Technology-oriented mindset with interest in process improvement and automation. Experience in industries with complex or multi-entity financial operations. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Computer Skills:
Computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite.
TRAVEL:
This job does not require routine travel.
