This role will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, and day-to-day accounting operations. The Controller will partner closely with the CFO and senior leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, strengthen internal processes, and support strategic decision-making. This is a key position within a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment, contributing directly to the company's overall financial health and success.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and oversight of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Manage the company's accounting systems, ensuring accurate posting of transactions and adherence to internal policies and procedures. Support the budgeting and forecasting process by collecting and analyzing data to identify financial trends and variances. Prepare and review monthly financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Monitor and reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy. Work closely with the CFO to implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial policies. Analyze financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities, operational efficiencies, and financial risks within the business. Participate in audit preparations and respond to auditors' requests during the audit process. Provide mentorship and support to junior accounting staff, helping to develop their skills and improve processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and recommendations to drive business performance and growth. Assist with ad-hoc financial projects and reporting as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not required. Minimum of 5 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in a manufacturing, agriculture, or production-related industry. An Accounting Manager OR Assistant Controller looking for a promotion would be considered for this role. Strong understanding of financial accounting principles, financial reporting, and accounting operations. Proficiency in accounting software and Excel.
