The Director of Finance is an executive level position that supports all company accounting, finance and estimating operations. Duties and Responsibilities Manage a small accounting team and all Company accounting and financial matters. Coordinate with CEO for scheduled, formal corporate financial reviews no less than once each calendar month. Ensure compliance with all accounting, financial, timekeeping, and related contracting requirements described by the FAR and DFAR, follow GAAP on all other company accounting and finance matters. Coordinate with
DCAA/DCMA
for reporting and submission of required information (e.g., provisional billing rates, incurred costs, voucher submissions, audit requests, etc.) Prepare Adjusting Journal Entries (AJE), and annual budget and quarterly forecasts. Manage the completion and timely submission of all required federal, state, city, and government agency filings. Manage the Company payroll system and all payroll runs (currently using ADP), including the payment of all related federal and state government taxes, wage garnishments, benefits, fees, and other deductions. Maintain project Estimates at Completion to determine percent complete notifications (per FAR requirements). Supervise daily bookkeeping and data entries in the Company accounting system (currently QuickBooks Enterprise), including cash flows, bank accounts, and credit cards. Create service contract briefs at contract award, exercise of option years, and at modification of contracts. Manage monthly bank account(s), credit account(s), and other account statement reconciliations. Manage all accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R) matters, including the submission of customer invoices using applicable submission databases or practices (e.g., PIEE, WAWF, IPP, etc.) Perform additional tasks and other accounting and finance projects, when required. Executive Qualifications Experience:
Minimum 12-15 years in senior financial leadership. Industry:
Proven track record within defense contracting or aerospace. Education:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related major. Credentials:
CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred but not required Required Experience:
Possess proven expertise in FARs, DCAA/DCMA compliance, and navigating periodic audits Solid knowledge of GAAP and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) Familiarity with QuickBooks Enterprise, ADP payroll, PIEE/WAWF Experience with Federal and State compliance and audit requirements Budget experience and services contract pricing USS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
