Controller

Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Hayward, California. This role is ideal for someone with exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail, particularly in managing and maintaining critical documentation processes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity and accessibility of organizational records while supporting operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

+ Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger management, account reconciliations, payroll, AP/AR, budgeting, and financial reporting. + Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure accurate, timely, and audit-ready financial statements and reports. + Prepare and review financial statements, program cost reports, budget monitoring reports, and required filings for management and external parties. + Serve as primary liaison for external auditors, coordinate audit activities, and ensure timely resolution of findings. + Oversee fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and reporting. + Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls, financial policies, and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory compliance. + Monitor financial performance, analyze variances and trends, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions to support budget and compliance goals. + Lead annual budget development and support forecasting, financial planning, and scenario analysis to promote long-term sustainability. + Drive continuous improvement of accounting systems, ERP optimization, reporting automation, and data integrity initiatives in partnership with the CFO. + Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure robust data security controls for sensitive financial information. + Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the CFO. Requirements + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. + 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including payroll, accounts payable, and general ledger oversight. + 3+ years of experience supervising accounting or finance personnel. + Strong skills in budgeting, financial analysis, and strategic planning.
