About the Role We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Finance to lead our organization's financial operations and drive long-term financial success. This is a high-impact leadership role for a finance professional who thrives in both strategic planning and day-to-day execution. The ideal candidate is not only capable of developing financial strategy and advising leadership but is also comfortable rolling up their sleeves and working directly within the details. This is not a purely high-level leadership position. From reviewing reconciliations and managing accounting processes to overseeing compliance, reporting, forecasting, and cash flow, this role requires a leader who can move seamlessly between big-picture strategy and hands-on financial management. Key Responsibilities Strategic Financial Leadership Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with organizational goals and growth initiatives. Provide executive leadership with financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making. Lead long-range financial planning, budgeting, and performance analysis. Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, profitability, and financial performance. Financial Management & Operations Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll oversight, and cost management. Maintain a hands-on approach to financial operations, including reviewing reconciliations, supporting month-end and year-end close activities, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. Manage and improve internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial processes. Support day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring scalability for future growth. Partner directly with accounting staff and cross-functional teams to identify process improvements and resolve financial issues. Compliance & Financial Reporting Ensure compliance with
GAAP, IFRS, ASC
606, and other applicable accounting standards and regulations. Prepare, review, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports. Coordinate external audits and maintain strong relationships with auditors, financial institutions, and regulatory agencies. Ensure timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders and leadership. Treasury, Risk & Cash Management Oversee treasury functions, cash flow management, liquidity planning, and banking relationships. Conduct financial risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies. Monitor financial performance and recommend corrective actions when necessary. Develop policies and procedures that strengthen financial governance and accountability. Business Partnership & Growth Support Collaborate with Business Development and operational leaders to support growth initiatives and strategic investments. Lead forecasting, financial modeling, revenue analysis, and P&L management. Evaluate investment opportunities and provide recommendations based on financial analysis. Support organizational growth through data-driven decision-making and financial planning. Investment & Fiscal Oversight Oversee investment management activities and ensure alignment with organizational objectives. Maintain compliance with governmental and nonprofit accounting standards when applicable. Provide financial stewardship that supports both short-term performance and long-term sustainability. Qualifications Required Skills & Experience Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, IAS, ASC
606, and financial reporting requirements. Advanced experience with ERP systems, accounting software, financial reporting tools, and bookkeeping practices. Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, treasury management, and revenue management. Strong understanding of balance sheet reconciliations, month-end close processes, and financial controls. Proven ability to lead while remaining actively involved in operational finance and accounting activities. Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required. CPA, MBA, or other advanced financial certification preferred. Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in finance, accounting, or financial management roles.
