By stepping into this position, you will transform raw operational data into high-level financial clarity alongside the site's top executive leadership. About You will imbed yourself directly with the plant management team and lead a dedicated, collaborative group of local accounting professionals. What You'll Do Advise Plant Executives:
Partner directly with the General Manager to convert financial metrics into operational strategies that boost site margins and meet company targets.
Mentor Accounting Talent:
Guide and develop the site finance team, overseeing daily operations across ledger maintenance, cost accounting, and inventory tracking.
Master Specialized Revenue:
Own the execution of Percentage-of-Completion (POC) accounting for complex defense and maritime programs, ensuring precise monthly journal entries and margin analyses.
Orchestrate Financial Planning:
Spearhead the preparation of annual operating budgets, rolling forecasts, and multi-year capital expenditure blueprints.
Accelerate Monthly Closes:
Direct the month-end closing cycle to ensure rapid, accurate financial reporting that aligns perfectly with corporate guidelines.
Fortify Site Controls:
Establish and maintain robust internal control frameworks covering cash flows, working capital, balance sheets, and capital spending.
Analyze Margin Variance:
Dissect manufacturing cost trends and operational efficiency to recommend immediate, proactive corrective actions to management.
Lead Compliance Audits:
Coordinate all local audit activities, serving as the central point of contact for internal reviews, external auditors, and government regulators.
Enforce Financial Standards:
Maintain strict adherence to US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) mandates, and public sector manufacturing rules.
Develop Costing Methods:
Calculate annual factory burden rates and drive modern cost accounting initiatives throughout the production floor.
Govern Material Valuation:
Provide executive oversight for year-end physical inventory tallies, routine cycle counting, and material accuracy enhancements.
Evaluate Capital Purchases:
Build detailed financial justifications and ROI models for major plant investments and equipment acquisitions.
Qualifications / Who
are we looking for
Educational Foundation:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline.
Manufacturing Longevity:
8+ years of progressive financial leadership climbing the ranks within an active factory environment.
Professional Credentials:
Active CPA or CMA designation is highly preferred.
Specialized Accounting Skills:
Extensive background handling cost accounting, inventory controls, and Percentage-of-Completion (POC) revenue recognition.
Regulated Industry Exposure:
Experience navigating SOX compliance, US GAAP, and government contract or defense manufacturing accounting rules.
Enterprise Systems Savvy:
Proven mastery utilizing major ERP applications and modern consolidation platforms (experience with Epicor and OneStream is a major asset).
Leadership Traits:
A self-starting, hands-on manager who thrives on a busy production floor and can communicate complex financial insights to non-financial peers.
