Status of Position:
Full Time (40 hours / week) All Roads (formerly Boulder Shelter for the Homeless) has been a fixture in Boulder County since 1982, providing a bed, meals, services, and dignity to those experiencing homelessness in our community. Our mission is to create avenues to stable housing for our community's homeless adults, from a foundation of safe shelter and supportive services. All Roads has a strong culture of collaboration, communication, creativity, compassion, and support, which yields an inclusive and engaging dynamic within the organization. We are seeking a hands-on Director of Finance to play a key leadership role in a diverse $9M not-for-profit organization and lead a 6-member administrative team. This role partners closely with the CFO and program leadership to translate financial data into actionable insights, ensure compliance across a complex grant portfolio, and support long-term financial sustainability. The Director also oversees key administrative functions, including HR, payroll, and financial systems.
Primary Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy and Planning Lead budgeting for the organization and across all programs and grants; maintain forecast models Partner with CFO and program leadership to align budgets with operational need and funding realities Lead scenario planning and support long-term financial sustainability Oversee dashboards, KPIs, and management reporting tools Grants and Compliance Oversee contracting and financial health of a 30+ grant portfolio, including funding mix and sustainability Lead financial planning for grant funding, renewals, and dependencies Partner with Controller on compliance and reporting accuracy Treasury Monitor cash flow and ensure alignment with funder and Board-designated restrictions Support liquidity planning and financial risk management Administrative Leadership (Human Resources, Payroll) Provide financial oversight of staffing plans and labor allocations in partnership with leadership Oversee recruiting, onboarding and open enrollment processes Collaborate and lead relationship with outsource provider for payroll, benefits and Human Resources Team Leadership and Systems Develop and maintain operating manuals for all aspects of the administrative functions Lead financial, federal and grant audits Embed recently implemented and revamped tools and processes Train, develop and coach the administrative team We value collaboration and resiliency. Qualifications and Skills Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 10+ years of experience Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis Advanced Excel and Financial System skills Strong communication and analytical abilities Prior supervisory skills Preferred Nonprofit and grant accounting experience Experience working with Boards or Finance Committees CPA, MBA, or similar credential
Physical Demands:
This position is in an office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. It is primarily sedentary work requiring the ability to lift up to twenty pounds. Office location is in Gunbarrel (near Boulder, CO)
Compensation:
