Job Description

Job Description The Opportunity Solarcore is an advanced materials technology company that develops the most scientifically innovative thermal solutions on the planet. We are on a mission to solve the world's largest thermal efficiency problems by revolutionizing the antiquated world of thermal insulation. Solarcore is looking for an operationally oriented strategic finance professional that will take a "hands on" approach to planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all company financial systems. This role will serve as the leader of the finance & accounting team. The VP of Finance is expected to play a significant role in the execution of strategic market growth plans and new manufacturing start up initiatives; FP&A, process development, capital management and reporting skills are a must. As Vice President of Finance, you will need to be passionate about building businesses, teams, processes and strategies as well as, executing at all levels to best position the company for growth. This position will report to the COO and will be a main point of contact for the entire Solarcore executive team.
Key Responsibilities:
Continuous focus on improving revenue, margins and communication of performance and executable action plans to management team Manage, direct, and oversee all financial aspects of strategic business planning activities, including financial plans and forecasts, financial assessments of potential commercial and operational strategies, financial reporting and analysis Build best financial practices for operating and reporting for a new start up manufacturing facility Establish sound internal financial management control systems and develop procedures to continuously improve internal control systems Assist in annual audit process and coordination of preparation of external audit materials, external GAAP financial reporting and all tax compliance and reporting Assist in building reporting packages for the Board of Directors and investor Drive the annual budgeting process, set and monitor growth and cost KPIs that are in alignment with company's strategic objectives Manage and take an active role in preparation/analysis of daily/weekly/monthly reports of key financial and operational metric trends that will aid in assessing organizational performance against budgets with functional leaders and management team Assist in capital raises (debt, equity, & government economic incentives) as needed Support management team to execute against new revenue and profit driving opportunities Create systems and structures to ensure that all the core finance functions happen in a consistent and timely manner
Experience & Requirements:
15+ years of finance experience 5+ years in a senior financial leadership role 4+ years with experience with US Government contracting, specifically Department of Defense procurement contracts 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing organization Clear communication skills capable of leading discussions across all company stakeholders Strong problem solving and risk assessment skills Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis Excellent spoken and written communication and experience partnering with an executive team, especially as it relates to communicating financial data Experience in entrepreneurial environments and in the creation of metrics (KPIs) as well as setting, measuring, and enforcing financial and operational standards A proven performer who is motivated, focused, passionate, and inspires confidence in employees and senior management
Preferred Skills:
Bachelors in finance, economics or accounting Prior experience as a Vice President of Finance Experienced working with a venture capital and/ or private equity-backed company Experience with project finance & project development
