Finance Job Summary:
The Director of Finance for Dutchfield Hospitality is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the portfolio of hotel properties. This position ensures the financial health and profitability of Dutchfield Hospitality and its hotel portfolio, providing strategic financial direction, analysis and recommendations to support Dutchfield Hospitalities? financial objectives. This position will collaborate closely with Managing Partners, Director of Operations, Culture & Commerce, Human Resources, Property Accounting Teams, Hotel Managers and Department Heads to maximize revenue, manage expenses, and enhance overall financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy & Leadership:
Lead the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes for Dutchfield Hospitality and all hotels within the portfolio. Develop and implement strategies to optimize profitability and cash flow for Dutchfield Hospitality and across hotel properties. Partner with leadership teams to drive financial performance, setting and reviewing financial targets and KPIs. Provide financial insights to senior management to assist with strategic decision-making and long-term planning.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Oversee preparation and timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations to improve operational efficiency and financial outcomes. Conduct variance analysis to assess financial results against budgets and forecasts.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Manage the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts for all hotel properties, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives. Work closely with Hotel Managers and Department Heads to develop detailed departmental budgets. Review and approve forecasts and provide regular updates to ownership and senior leadership regarding potential risks and opportunities.
Cash Flow & Profitability Management:
Monitor and manage cash flow across the hotel portfolio, ensuring liquidity and financial stability. Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies to improve profitability without compromising guest experience or operational standards. Develop and implement effective financial controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with company policies.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and company policies. Conduct internal audits to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Assist in preparing for external audits and resolve any audit findings.
Team Management & Development:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment. Provide training and development opportunities for the finance team to enhance their skills and career growth. Collaborate with other departments, including operations, sales, and marketing, to provide financial insights and improve hotel performance.
Stakeholder Communication:
Act as the primary point of contact for financial matters with ownership, investors, and stakeholders. Provide regular updates and presentations on the financial performance of the hotel portfolio. Manage relationships with external vendors, auditors, and financial institutions as necessary.
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time, salaried position with the potential for travel to our hotel properties as needed.
