Job Description

Lead Financial Strategy. Drive Operational Excellence. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Retail Controller to join our leadership team in a fast-paced retail environment. This role is ideal for a finance professional who thrives in operational accounting, understands the complexities of multi-location retail operations, and can balance strategic oversight with hands-on execution. The Retail Controller will oversee all accounting and financial functions while partnering closely with operations leadership to support profitability, compliance, and long-term goal attainment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, sales tax compliance, commission calculations, inventory and job costing accuracy, and strong internal controls across the organization. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close Prepare timely and accurate monthly, and annual financial statements Manage cash flow analysis, and financial reporting for leadership Administer and oversee sales tax reporting and compliance Calculate, audit, and validate commissions Manage and analyze job costing , project profitability, inventory costing, and margin reporting Monitor inventory controls, reconciliations, and retail operational reporting Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures to improve efficiency and reduce risk Provide financial analysis and operational recommendations to leadership teams Support ERP/accounting system optimization and process improvements Lead and mentor accounting team members while fostering accountability and collaboration Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required 5+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience, preferably in retail, or multi-location operations Strong understanding of: Sales tax compliance Commission structures and calculations Inventory accounting Job costing and profitability analysis Financial statement preparation Experience managing month-end and year-end close processes Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required ERP/accounting software experience required Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail What We Offer Competitive compensation package Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance Supplemental insurance options Paid Time Off for vacation and sickness 401(k) with company match Professional and collaborative work environment Abbey Carpet of Naples is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE) and participate in the Federal E-Verify program.
