This is a top leadership role reporting to the corporate CFO and is responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, consistency across all rooftops, and providing strategic financial insight to executive leadership. The ideal candidate brings deep automotive accounting expertise, strong leadership skills, and the ability to partner with operations to drive profitability and process improvement. Key Responsibilities Oversee all dealership accounting operations across multiple rooftops Manage and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Ensure accurate and timely month-end close for all entities Maintain compliance with GAAP, manufacturer requirements, and lender covenants Supervise and develop dealership accounting managers and office staff Review and approve: Deal schedules CITs Payroll and commissions Floorplan reconciliations Bank reconciliations Journal entries Coordinate annual audits, manufacturer audits, and lender reviews Establish and enforce internal controls, policies, and procedures Work closely with Fixed Ops, Sales, and Executive teams to analyze: Gross profit trends Expense control Operational inefficiencies Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow management Assist with acquisitions, integrations, and system implementations as needed Qualifications 5+ years of automotive dealership controller experience (multi-store preferred) Be a positive, motivating, team leader with excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to hire and train while being open minded to learning. Bachelor degree in accounting and CPA preferred but there is no substitute for Wisdom and experience. Tekion experience a plus Strong working knowledge of: Dealership financial statements Manufacturer accounting requirements Sales, service, and parts accounting Proficiency with dealer management systems (CDK and Reynolds & Reynolds) Advanced Excel skills Proven leadership and team-development experience High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities Strong communication skills with executive-level presencePreferred Qualifications CPA or CMA designation (preferred but not required) Experience standardizing processes across multiple rooftops Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Performance-based bonus potential Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) Paid time off and holidays Why Join Us Executive-level visibility and influence Stable ownership with long-term growth strategy Ability to make meaningful operational and financial impact Collaborative leadership culture
