Corporate Controller / Vice President of Finance Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Corporate Controller / Vice President of Finance to lead the accounting and finance function for a diversified holding company with multiple operating businesses across various industries. This position will serve as the senior financial leader responsible for accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, cash management, and finance team leadership across all entities. This role is intended for a hands-on finance executive who can bring structure, accountability, and best practices to a complex multi-entity environment. The ideal candidate is an active CPA with significant experience working directly with a sole owner, founder, entrepreneur, family office, or privately held business group. They will have a proven track record of improving accounting processes and creating executive reporting systems that support informed decision-making. Position Responsibilities Finance Leadership Serve as the senior leader of the accounting and finance function across all operating companies. Partner directly with the Owner to provide financial insight, reporting, and strategic recommendations. Build a culture of accountability, accuracy, responsiveness, and continuous improvement. Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and finance personnel. Financial Reporting & Executive Dashboards Deliver accurate monthly financial statements and reporting packages for all entities. Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and account reconciliations. Oversee daily and weekly cash management processes, including monitoring liquidity and funding needs. Develop consolidated financial reporting across the entire portfolio of companies. Create executive dashboards that provide visibility into: Profitability by business Consolidated financial performance Cash flow and liquidity Key operating metrics and KPIs Budget-to-actual performance Ensure financial reporting is completed within 10 business days of month-end. Accounting Operations & Controls Establish and enforce best-practice accounting policies and procedures. Design and implement strong internal controls to protect company assets and improve financial accuracy. Take ownership of financial systems environment including oversight of QuickBooks-based systems. Standardize accounting practices and reporting processes across all entities where appropriate. Coordinate annual audits, tax compliance, and relationships with external advisors. Required Qualifications Active CPA license required. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience. Minimum 5 years as a Controller, VP of Finance, Director of Finance, or similar senior leadership role. Significant experience in multi-entity organizations, holding companies, family offices, or diversified business groups including hospitality, technology, and real estate development. Experience working directly with a sole owner, founder, entrepreneur, or privately held business ownership group. Demonstrated success building, restructuring, or transforming accounting and finance departments. Proven experience implementing internal controls, financial reporting processes, and accounting best practices. Experience creating consolidated financial reporting packages and executive dashboards. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial statement preparation, cash management, budgeting, and forecasting. History of delivering timely and accurate financial reporting in complex operating environments.
