The organization operates a multi-site footprint and is focused on delivering high-quality products while continuously improving operational efficiency and financial performance.
Position Overview:
The Vice President of Accounting is a senior finance leader responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls across the organization. This role ensures the integrity and accuracy of financial information while supporting strategic decision-making and operational execution. The position requires a hands-on leader who can balance high-level strategy with day-to-day execution, particularly in a manufacturing environment with complex cost structures, inventory dynamics, and multi-site operations. Key Responsibilities Lead all accounting functions, including general ledger, cost accounting, inventory, AP/AR, payroll, fixed assets, and consolidations across multiple locations. Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. Direct financial reporting, variance analysis, and performance metrics to provide actionable insights to executive leadership. Partner with operations to manage manufacturing finance activities, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and margin analysis. Establish and maintain internal controls, support audit processes, and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. Collaborate cross-functionally to drive process improvements, system enhancements, and operational efficiencies. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly preferred; advanced degree a plus. 12-15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles within manufacturing or industrial environments. Deep expertise in cost accounting, financial reporting, inventory management, and internal controls. Experience managing teams and building scalable processes in multi-site or complex organizations. Strong ERP systems knowledge (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced financial systems proficiency. Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, strong analytical skills, and the ability to influence senior leadership.
