Job Description Job Description The Plant Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial activities for assigned manufacturing plants within a multi-site operating environment. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, and effective cost management, while partnering with plant operations, other site controllers, and corporate finance resources to support decision-making, drive operational efficiency, and ensure consistency across locations. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Close Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the assigned plant within a multi-site structure Lead the monthly close process for the plant, coordinating timelines and requirements with corporate finance Ensure timely and accurate reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP, corporate policies, and standardized reporting practices across sites Provide financial explanations for plant performance versus budget, forecast, prior periods, and peer-site benchmarks Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Finance Maintain and analyze standard costs and job costing, including material, labor, and overhead, in alignment with company-wide costing methodologies Analyze manufacturing variances (PPV, usage, labor efficiency, overhead absorption) and compare performance across sites Support inventory valuation, reserves, cycle counts, and physical inventories, ensuring consistency with multi-site inventory policies and controls Monitor and analyze scrap, rework, and yield metrics, including cross-site comparisons Support capital project analysis, capitalization, and depreciation in coordination with corporate Budgeting & Forecasting Lead the annual budget and periodic forecast updates for the assigned plants within the broader multi-site planning process Partner with plant leadership and corporate finance resources to develop aligned production, cost, and capital assumptions Track performance against budget and forecast, identifying site-specific risks and opportunities Internal Controls & Compliance Ensure compliance with internal controls, and company policies across the plant Coordinate with corporate and other plant controllers to support internal and external audits Maintain strong segregation of duties and standardized controls over inventory, fixed assets, and expenditures Operational Partnership Act as a financial business partner to the Plant Manager and operations leadership Collaborate with other site controllers and corporate finance to drive consistency, transparency, and best practices across locations Provide financial insights to support pricing, sourcing, make/buy decisions, and continuous improvement initiatives Participate in cross-site finance initiatives, process standardization, and system improvements Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred) 5-10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including manufacturing or cost accounting Prior experience in a multi-site manufacturing or matrixed organization strongly preferred Technical Skills Strong knowledge of cost accounting and manufacturing financial processes Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal control frameworks Experience with ERP systems used in multi-site environments (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) Advanced Excel skills; experience with BI or enterprise reporting tools a plus Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to translate financial data into operational insights across multiple locations Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a matrixed organization Detail-oriented with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a multi-site close environment Working Conditions On-site presence at the assigned manufacturing facilities Periodic overtime during month-end, year-end close, forecasting, and budget cycles Occasional travel to corporate offices or other plant locations outside of Utah may be required Victaulic is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EOE/M/F/Vets/Disabled) employer and welcomes all qualified applicants.
