Job Overview - Contoller We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Controller to lead our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our accounting practices. The Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and financial controls for the company. This role ensures accurate and timely financial information, supports operational decision-making, and helps drive profitability across all service divisions. The Controller works closely with ownership and department leaders to improve financial performance, maintain compliance, and support the company's long-term growth strategy. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced in managing accounting operations within a fast-paced residential home services environment. Responsibilities Financial Management & Reporting Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations including: Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable Payroll General Ledger Bank Reconciliations Job Costing Prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Manage month-end and year-end close processes. Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial projections. Monitor company cash flow and working capital needs. Provide financial analysis and reporting to ownership and executive leadership. Track departmental profitability and KPI performance. Operational & Strategic Support Partner with leadership to improve operational efficiency and profitability. Analyze service, installation, and membership performance metrics. Assist with pricing analysis, labor efficiency tracking, and margin improvement. Support growth initiatives, acquisitions, and expansion planning. Internal Controls & Compliance Establish and maintain strong internal financial controls and processes. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. Coordinate with external CPA firms, auditors, banks, and financial institutions. Maintain accurate financial records and accounting documentation. Team Leadership Manage and mentor accounting staff. Establish accountability and performance expectations within the Accounting department. Improve financial workflows, reporting systems, and operational processes. Assist with hiring, training, and development of accounting personnel. Job Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA designation preferred but not required. 5+ years of accounting or finance leadership experience. Experience in residential home services, construction, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or related trades preferred. Financial reporting Budgeting & forecasting Payroll Cash flow management Job costing Quickbooks power user and/or experience with ERP/accounting systems and service management software. Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting skills. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
