Job Description
We are seeking a strategic and highly organized VP of Finance to join a fast-growing startup environment. This individual will work directly with the CEO and executive leadership team to oversee financial planning, forecasting, investor relations, reporting, operational finance, and scalability initiatives. The ideal candidate is both analytical and proactive, capable of building financial structure while operating effectively in a fast-paced growth environment. This role requires someone comfortable communicating with investors, financial institutions, CPAs, and executive leadership while helping build the financial foundation of a rapidly scaling organization operating across multiple states. Key Responsibilities Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes Develop and maintain financial models to support company growth and multi-state expansion Monitor cash flow, profitability, operational performance, and financial health Support executive leadership with financial analysis and strategic recommendations Assist in preparing the company for future fundraising and expansion initiatives
Investor Relations & Executive Support:
Interface directly with investors, banks, CPAs, legal counsel, and advisors Prepare investor updates, financial reports, and executive summaries Assist with due diligence, financial documentation, and fundraising preparation Support executive leadership with financial presentations and reporting Financial Operations:
Oversee financial reporting and coordination with accounting/bookkeeping teams Improve financial systems, workflows, and reporting structures Develop scalable SOPs and operational financial processes Ensure accurate financial reporting and reconciliation across systems Support financial operations across multiple states and departments Assist with construction job costing, margin analysis, and project profitability trackin Reporting & Analytics:
Build dashboards and reporting tools for leadership visibility Analyze operational margins, pricing, labor efficiency, and business performance Track project profitability, labor costs, and operational trends Identify financial risks, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities Deliver consistent weekly and monthly financial insights to leadership Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in finance, FP&A, investment banking, private equity, startup finance, operational finance, or construction finance Strong financial modeling and forecasting experience Experience working with investors and executive leadership teams Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills Strong organizational, communication, and presentation abilities Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills Preferred Experience:
Startup or high-growth company experience Experience supporting fundraising or investor relations Familiarity with scaling operations and multi-state growth Experience with construction job costing, project-based accounting, or service-based businesses is a plus Experience with accounting/CRM systems such as Zoho, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar CPA, MBA, CFA, or strong startup finance experience preferred What We're Looking For:
