Financial Controller Location:
Venice, Florida (In-Person to Start)

Full-Time About the Role We are seeking a highly organized and trustworthy Financial Controller to oversee and coordinate the financial operations of a private trust and its affiliated companies. This role is more advanced than traditional bookkeeping, but not intended to replace a CPA or public accountant. The Financial Controller will work directly with ownership, senior management, the CTO, and our external accounting firm to build efficient financial systems, maintain financial visibility across entities, and help modernize operations using AI-driven workflows and automation tools. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys structure, organization, and helping growing businesses operate more efficiently. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment. About the Organization The trust currently owns two active companies, with additional ventures in development. The Financial Controller will play a key role in helping ownership maintain clear financial oversight across all entities. Key Responsibilities Oversee and organize financial operations across multiple companies owned by the trust Coordinate with external accounting and tax professionals Manage intercompany financial tracking and reporting Monitor cash flow, expenses, budgets, and financial organization Assist ownership and senior management with financial visibility and decision-making Help implement and improve AI-assisted financial systems and workflows alongside the CTO Maintain accurate financial records and internal controls Organize documentation for audits, tax preparation, and company transactions Support future entity creation, restructuring, acquisitions, or potential company sales Assist in developing scalable financial processes as the organization grows Qualifications Experience in bookkeeping, financial operations, office accounting, or controller-level support Strong understanding of business financial organization and reporting Comfortable working with multiple business entities simultaneously Highly organized with strong attention to detail Trustworthy and able to handle confidential financial information Strong communication and interpersonal skills Experience working with QuickBooks, Bill.com, Google Workplace and similar platforms required Comfortable learning and implementing new technology and AI tools Ability to work closely with leadership in a collaborative environment Strong Computer Skills.
