Financial Controller

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Financial Controller to lead the financial operations of our established cargo trailer dealership. This role is responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, and managing the flow of high-volume sales and inventory transactions. The ideal candidate brings hands-on dealership experience, strong technical accounting skills, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, transaction-driven environment. This is a key leadership role with direct impact on the financial health and operational efficiency of the business. Responsibilities Manage the full spectrum of accounting functions, including general ledger, account reconciliation, A/P, A/R, and payroll Oversee deal posting, funding, and reconciliation of all sales transactions Maintain accurate inventory accounting, including cost tracking and unit reconciliation Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making Monitor cash flow, perform bank reconciliations, and manage overall financial performance Ensure compliance with sales tax and applicable regulatory requirements Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and review of general ledger activity Coordinate with external accountants and auditors as needed Develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency Partner with ownership to provide financial insights and operational recommendations Qualifications Prior experience in a dealership environment required (automotive, RV, trailer, or similar) 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting practices Experience with inventory-based accounting and high-volume transactions Familiarity with dealership management systems (DMS) preferred Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar platforms Strong understanding of cash flow management, reconciliations, and financial analysis High attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment What We Offer Competitive salary based on experience Stable, established business with growth opportunities Collaborative, team-oriented environment Opportunity to make a direct impact on operations and financial performance How to Apply Please submit your resume along with a brief summary of your dealership accounting experience.
