Job Description
Job Purpose The Controller will serve as AstroTurf's senior accounting leader, responsible for leading the Company's internal accounting function, ensuring the accuracy of accounting records, managing the monthly close process, and overseeing financial reporting in accordance with company policies. This position provides timely and accurate financial information to the AstroTurf Director of Finance to support budgeting and forecasting decisions. The Controller also ensures compliance with financial procedures, supports internal controls, and contributes to continuous improvement within the finance and accounting function. Duties and Responsibilities Oversee all day‑to‑day accounting operations for AstroTurf, including general ledger, cash, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions. Ensure timely and accurate month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes in accordance with IFRS. Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, schedules, and supporting documentation. Maintain and enforce strong internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures. Oversee multi‑entity accounting, intercompany reconciliations, and consolidated reporting. Coordinate with accounting departments of newly acquired entities and the international parent company to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for AstroTurf and its subsidiaries. Ensure compliance with statutory reporting, tax requirements, and regulatory obligations. Oversee month-end reporting timeline and processes, including management of assistant controller and staff accountants performing month-end activities. Perform month-end analysis of balance sheet and key accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies. Contribute to the further development of robust and streamlined month-end close process. Partner with operations, project teams, and finance leadership to support accurate accounting and reporting. Partner with Finance leadership on cash management, including cash forecasting inputs, working capital drivers, and banking support as needed. Coordinate with external auditors for preparation of schedules, audit support, and timely remediation of findings. Support system implementations, upgrades, and accounting‑related integrations. Identify and drive process improvements that increase accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred.Experience:
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including management responsibility. Strong knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP. Experience with multi‑entity accounting and consolidations. ERP system proficiency and advanced Excel skills.Similar remote jobs
