Job Description
The Coastal Regional Commission (CRC), an EEO Employer, is a Coastal Georgia based organization serving ten counties and thirty-five cities with regional planning and economic development, public transportation, and aging services. The CRC is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Finance Director to support the management of the Commission's financial operations, budgeting, reporting, and compliance activities. This position works closely with the Finance Director and plays a key role in ensuring sound financial practices across the organization. The ideal candidate must meet the following qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business AdministrationExperience:
Four or more years of accounting experience, preferably in local government or public financeSkills :
Knowledge of GAAP, governmental finance and accounting, and OMB's Uniform Guidance (2 CFR § 200). Proficient in grant management and compliance. High emotional intelligence, strong ethical standards, and forward-thinking vision. Proficient with Microsoft Office products and accounting software.Key Responsibilities include:
- Assist with preparation and monitoring of the CRC's annual budget
- Assist with maintaining the CRC's books of account and subsidiary ledgers in accordance with GAAP, state law, and grantor requirements
- Support month-end and year-end closing, audits, and preparation of the CRC's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report
- Assist with payroll, accounts payable, and tax reporting (W-2s, 1099s, Affordable Care Act)
- Support grant invoicing, procurement compliance, and contract review
- Assist with development and implementation of financial policies and procedures
