This role is critical to strengthening internal controls, streamlining the close process, and building a scalable accounting operation within a construction environment. Key Responsibilities Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes using a formal close checklist Ensure all manual journal entries are properly supported and independently reviewed Own the WIP (Work in Progress) schedule and reconcile contract accounts to the trial balance on a monthly basis Implement and maintain payroll, balance sheet, and contract account reconciliations Formalize accrual processes and oversee AP payment batch approvals Lead and develop accounting staff while coordinating with external auditors Qualifications 10+ years of accounting experience, with strong construction and WIP expertise Proven experience owning close processes and internal controls Foundation ERP experience strongly preferred Warren Averett is an equal opportunity employer.
