Job Description

Trueline is seeking a Corporate Controller to join its Honolulu team in a fully onsite role near Ala Moana for a mission-driven behavioral health and human services organization supporting children, adults, and families, This hands-on leader will strengthen accounting operations, establish reliable budgets and reporting, improve financial processes, and partner directly with executive leadership and an experienced Finance Director. What You'll Do as the
Corporate Controller:
Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including the general ledger, monthly close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses that give leadership a clear view of financial performance Review current accounting practices, clean up outstanding issues, and create organized, repeatable processes Strengthen internal controls, documentation, and approval procedures to protect the organization and improve accuracy Prepare timely financial statements and translate the numbers into practical insights for executive leadership Coordinate audit, tax, compliance, and year-end reporting activities Partner closely with the CEO, VP, and Finance Director on financial priorities and business decisions Supervise and support a part-time accounting team member Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, reporting tools, and department efficiency Remain actively involved in the work while helping the finance function become more structured and dependable Must-Haves as the
Corporate Controller:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field CPA certification or a comparable professional accounting credential At least 5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role Strong technical knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and full-cycle accounting Demonstrated experience creating budgets, managing close processes, and analyzing financial results Experience identifying accounting issues and implementing practical process improvements Strong organizational skills and the ability to bring structure to an evolving environment A hands-on leadership style and the confidence to begin contributing quickly Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with executives and an experienced Finance Director Ability to work onsite in Honolulu 5 days per week Nice-to-Haves as the
Corporate Controller:
Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, human services, or another regulated service organization Previous Controller, Assistant Controller, Director of Accounting, or senior accounting leadership experience Experience with multi-program, multi-location, or government-funded operations QuickBooks experience Advanced Excel, financial modeling, or data analytics skills Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration Experience helping an organization improve controls, rebuild processes, or navigate a period of change
This Position Offers:
