Primary Responsibilities:
Under the general direction of the General Manager of Corporate Planning & Administration, oversees all operations in the Corporate Accounting & Finance Department; includes accounts receivable and payable, auditing and financial reports. Directs the establishment and maintenance of the organization's accounting principles, practices and procedures to maintain fiscal records and preparation of financial reports. Develops and initiates systems, policies and procedures for transacting financial matters and ensures that the financial system is accurate, efficient and in accordance with professional accounting practices and governmental regulations.
Essential Duties:
1. Plan, direct and coordinate all accounting operational functions in accordance with established systems and generally accepted principles of accounting to meet company and regulatory requirements. 2. Manage consolidation of all financial data necessary for accurate reporting of business results by directing and overseeing the general accounting activities including maintenance of general ledgers and analysis of reports. 3. Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements, budgets, accounting analysis reports, and other monthly, quarterly and annual reports. Preparing special reports for upper management and regional head headquarter on request. 4. Develop, analyze, and interpret statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters. 5. Coordinate and prepare tour estimate and reconciliations. 6. Monitor and manage cash-flow status and decides disposition of available funds. 7. Coordinate activities of internal and external auditors including schedule preparation, analysis, and response to inquiries. 8. Direct, coordinate, and prepare necessary forms and reports to comply with tax and other regulatory requirements. 9. Assess current accounting operations and recommend and implement new processes. 10. Monitors and enforces internal accounting control procedures to ensure completeness, accuracy, proper authorization of transactions, and detection of any discrepancies and irregularities. 11. Maintains control of the Company's insurance policies (auto, property and general liabilities). Prepare necessary documents for renewal and ensure to have adequate insurance coverage with favorable rates. Support tour operation department to bind insurance for various events.
Other Duties:
1. Assists in other areas during peak periods as required. 2. Performs all other duties as assigned by manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages subordinates to include motivating and directing staff to achieve individual and departmental goals and objectives. Educates, evaluates, counsels, guides and trains subordinates in execution of their job responsibilities in pursuit of career development.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance from an accredited college or university required. 2. CPA license preferred. 3. 7 years progressively more responsible experience in accounting, of which 5 years were in a managerial capacity. 4. Tour operation and information knowledge preferred. 5. English/Japanese speaking preferred. Skills and Knowledge In addition to meeting the mental, physical, and communications demands listed in this job description, this position requires: 1. Must have knowledge, experience and understanding of the following Leadership competencies: Financial Management, Leadership, Customer Knowledge, People Development, Communication and Vision. 2. Knowledge of principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning, coordination and execution. This includes strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques and production methods. 3. Advanced knowledge and skills in computerized accounting systems and knowledge of company specific software. 4. Proficiency with basic computer systems, software, application programs, email and standard office equipment. Physical Demands 1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to fingers, handle or feel objects tools or controls, reach with hands and arms and climb stairs. 3. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 4. Must be able to sit in front of a computer or on the telephone for long periods of time (2 hours at a time). 5. The employee must occasionally lift or move boxes up to 20 pounds. Mental Demands 1. Able to visualize, articulate and solve complex problems and concepts and make decisions based on available information. 2. Must be detail oriented, highly accurate, conscientious and able to work independently and with a team, be creative and possess strong organizational skills. 3. Must have superior time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently 4. Requires good oral communication skills to communicate effectively with employees, management, other top management, affiliates and with external contacts. 5. Requires working cooperatively with others, deal constructively with conflict and have the ability to handle stressful situations.
Working Conditions:
Working Hours:
Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm with occasional work outside these days and hours. Working Environment Air conditioned office. Occasional travel to various locations outside of the office to meet with business partners as necessary.
