This position is responsible for ensuring the financial health of our growing, multiple entity operations and leading the Accounting Department. Is also responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, managing cash flow in a high-inventory environment, and providing the data-driven insights necessary to optimize profitability.
Essential Functions:
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Lead the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, including bank reconciliations, rigorous variance analysis, and the development of complex spreadsheet models.
Tax & Compliance:
Manage Sales, Use, and Excise tax preparation across a multistate, multistore footprint. Ensure all filings are accurate and timely.
Operational Oversight:
Provide managerial leadership to the accounting team; this includes staff training, payroll processing, and managing benefit accruals. Align post-acquisition accounting processes, reporting and controls with corporate standards. Analyze financial performance, conduct variance analysis, identify cost inefficiencies and optimize operational processes.
Controls & Audits:
Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets. Ensure GAAP and regulatory compliance. Act as the primary point of contact for external audits.
Tactical Support:
While this is a leadership role, you aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves and assist with data entry or WIP processing when the team needs extra capacity.
Qualifications:
Experience:
10+ years of progressive accounting experience OR a current CPA license.
Industry Knowledge:
Strong familiarity with construction contracts, GAAP application, and Construction WIP (Work in Progress) processing is essential.
Software Proficiency:
Excel:
Advanced proficiency is required (you should be able to build and troubleshoot Pivot Tables and utilize XLOOKUPs effortlessly).
Payroll:
Familiarity with ADP platforms.
Leadership:
Proven ability to manage and develop a team in a fast-paced environment.
