A/R Specialist, A/P Specialist, Scale House Staff Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Position Overview The Controller takes ownership of TCR's financial records, leads the accounting team, and oversees scale house operations. You will run the daily accounting operations, monthly budgets, oversee A/R and A/P, and partner with the CFO on reporting, compliance, and process improvement. This role spans accounting, supervision, and scale house oversight. This dynamic role will work alongside leadership and operations teams across the company. Key Responsibilities Accounting and Financial Reporting Own the day-to-day accounting business needs. Maintain the general ledger through reconciliations and journal entries, intercompany activity, loan payments, and fixed asset tracking. Prepare financial statements, expense summaries, and operational scorecards (KPIs). Support ad hoc reporting for management across all departments. Hire, manage, and support retention of the accounting staff, including theA/R & A/P
Specialists. Review aging reports, approve vendor payments, and oversee customer credit applications. Coordinate with Human Resources regarding payroll processing, reporting, and payroll journal entries. Support sales tax filings, audit documentation, and internal controls. Ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations. Support risk assessment models to evaluate investments. Perform internal audits and assist with external audits Scale House Oversight Supervise scale house staff - supporting daily operations, schedules, and timecard approvals in coordination with the Scale House Lead. Handle all personnel responsibilities for the Scale House team. Manage daily cash reconciliation, deposit oversight, and enforcement of scale house policies. Coordinate scale license renewals, compliance filings, and scale maintenance scheduling. Qualifications and Skills Previous experience in a Controller and/or Accounting Manager role Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or a related finance role Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field strongly preferred Direct experience with A/R, A/P, general ledger maintenance, and the monthly close 3+ year of proven leadership and supervisory experience is required Experience in an agricultural, manufacturing, recycling operations or related industry is a plus Familiarity with payroll workflows and journal entries Proficiency in accounting software, with QuickBooks preferred Strong Excel skills, including building reconciliations and reports Working knowledge of GAAP, with three or more years of GAAP experience preferred Strong attention to detail, consistent follow through, and a habit of looking for process improvements Clear written and verbal communicator Demonstrated team leadership and a focus on staff development Benefits Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company matching Paid time off and paid holidays Bonus eligible Professional development and continuing education budget Collaborative work environment Timber Creek Recycling is an equal opportunity employer.
