This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee all aspects of accounting, financial management, and regulatory compliance within a successful organization. As a key member of the executive team, you will drive financial strategy, enhance internal controls, and support sustainable growth through expert financial analysis and reporting. Your expertise will help continue to shape our financial future while ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements. Duties Manage and oversee all accounting functions including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing using QuickBooks software. Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) as well as other relevant regulatory frameworks. Lead the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and regulatory filings, emphasizing transparency and clarity in financial report writing. Conduct balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, and account reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records. Oversee cash management activities including forecasting, banking relationships, and liquidity management to optimize cash flow. Implement and monitor internal controls related to bookkeeping, technical accounting issues, and compliance with governmental accounting standards. Coordinate internal/external audits, ensure proper documentation for audit trails, and facilitate regulatory reporting requirements. Drive budgeting processes, financial forecasting, variance analysis, and strategic planning to support organizational goals. Oversee and improve accounting and inventory practices and processes throughout the organization. Actively participate in improvements and changes to our online management systems and documentation. Enforce compliant practices throughout the organization. Active participation at all levels is necessary in order to protect the company and optimize its success. Supervise an accounting / administrative assistant. Qualifications A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required. A master's degree is helpful but not required. Relevant certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) are desirable but not required. Experience in multi-state accounting practices. Proven experience in corporate accounting with a strong background in financial management. Experience administering a 401K plan and all types of insurance plans. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of staff. Extensive knowledge of GAAP and experience with public accounting practices. Sox (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) knowledge helpful but not required. Strong knowledge of Sales and Use Tax regulations, compliance and reporting requirements. Demonstrated expertise in financial concepts such as debits & credits, balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, and technical accounting issues. Proficiency with QuickBooks accounting software. Financial software experience is essential. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data for strategic decision-making. Excellent communication skills for clear report writing and presenting financial insights to key stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining high accuracy under tight deadlines.
