Job Description

Hybrid Opporunity! CPA Required About Our Client I'm partnered with a privately held industrial holding company with diversified manufacturing operations located near Des Plaines, Illinois. As the organization continues to expand, they are looking to add a Controller to their team. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, this individual will be responsible for supporting the accounting and reporting functions across multiple entities, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close and consolidation activities. This is a highly collaborative role that partners closely with various teams across the organization and offers broad exposure to the business. Job Description Oversee maintenance of accurate general ledger records and manage the month-end close process across multiple corporate and holding entities Drive the consolidation process for a group of subsidiaries and affiliated business units Prepare and deliver financial reporting packages for both internal leadership and external stakeholders, including lenders, auditors, and other partners Work closely with the VP of Finance to support ongoing enhancements to accounting policies, controls, and internal processes Provide leadership and daily direction to a small accounting team while collaborating cross-functionally with employees at all levels of the organization Partner with tax and treasury functions to ensure financial records are maintained in accordance with GAAP and support compliance requirements Compile and review recurring financial reporting on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, including both standalone and consolidated statements and supporting schedules Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy across all accounts Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, controls, and overall accounting processes Support various ad hoc analyses, projects, and management requests as needed MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. The Successful Applicant Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; an accounting concentration is preferred but not mandatory Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Hands-on experience with consolidations across multiple business units or divisions, along with month-end close responsibilities Strong working knowledge of
U.S. GAAP
