Job Description:
Controller - 3 Days Onsite We are seeking a Controller to lead all accounting and financial operations for a global manufacturing organization based in the Northwest suburbs. This is a high-impact role responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and actionable financial insights that support both operational performance and strategic decision-making. The Controller will serve as a key business partner to plant and operations leadership, playing a critical role in driving profitability, cost efficiency, and overall financial discipline across the site. What You'll Do
  • Lead all accounting operations, including month-end and year-end close
  • Prepare and review financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
  • Own budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Lead some inventory, and margin analysis
  • Tax experience required
  • Ensure GAAP compliance and maintain a strong internal control environment
  • Partner closely with operations, supply chain, and leadership to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Support tax, audit, and compliance requirements
  • Oversee cash flow, working capital, and capital expenditure tracking
  • Drive ERP optimization, reporting improvements, and process automation
  • Lead and develop accounting team members What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or MBA preferred)
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Prior Controller, Assistant Controller or Manager experience strongly preferred
  • Strong manufacturing/distribution accounting background
  • Solid general accounting and financial reporting expertise
  • ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar)
  • Strong leadership and business partnering skills What's Offered
