Job Description

Graham C-Stores is seeking to fill a full-time Assistant Controller position in
Wadsworth, IL Job Type:
Full-Time Salary:
From $90,000 per year Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reporting
  • Create Cash Flow Statement from banking activity, reconcile and analyze Cash Management, and reconcile ATM transactions at all sites on a daily basis
  • Post Citgo Credit Card fees daily and investigate any discrepancies
  • Audit daily paperwork generated by the sites ensuring adherence to standard requirements and internal controls
  • Create weekly receivable reporting to management
  • Maintain Real Estate Tax spreadsheet, pay tax bills when due and post accrual journal entry
  • Create and new AP vendors and wholesale fuel accounts in company's software
  • Update AP and wholesale fuel accounts as needed
  • Perform month end close procedures, creating and posting journal entries to the General Ledger by the third business day of the month
  • Create and post journal entries for BP Rebate Accrual, ATM Commission and Rent Override
  • Reconcile various Balance Sheet accounts, researching and resolving any variances on a monthly basis
  • Post cash receipts related to Vendor Rebates and reconcile payments to receivables
  • File monthly motor fuel and sales tax returns, monitor and update rate changes as they are released
  • Assist Controller with annual activity such as 1099 filings, financial audit, insurance renewal and Mackin Land Company
  • Research any discrepancies, communicate with management, following through to resolution
Qualifications:
  • BS in Accounting, CPA or MBA highly preferred
  • 5+ years accounting experience required
  • Detail and deadline oriented with strong initiative, follow-through and the ability to multi-task
  • Willing to work in a team environment
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • Excellent written and interpersonal skills
  • Fuel tax reporting and retail experience a plus
