Job Description

Robert Half is looking for a Plant Controller for a client in northwest Indiana. The Plant Controller oversees all financial activities for a manufacturing facility and partners with plant leadership to support operational and strategic goals. This role is responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, inventory controls, variance analysis, and internal controls within the plant environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesManage the plant's accounting and financial reporting processesPrepare budgets, forecasts, and monthly financial analysesMonitor manufacturing costs, inventory, labor, and overhead variancesLead cost accounting activities, including standard costing and inventory valuationPartner with operations leadership to improve financial performance and efficiencyEnsure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirementsAnalyze capital expenditures and support business case developmentOversee month-end and year-end close for plant finance activitiesProvide insight into KPIs, production trends, and profitability driversSupervise plant accounting staff, if applicableQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldCPA, CMA, or MBA often preferredSeveral years of progressive accounting or finance experience, ideally in manufacturingStrong knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, and financial analysisExperience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skillsStrong communication and business partnering abilitiesThis position offers a salary range of $115,000-$155,000 + bonus and comes with a full benefits package including: medical/dental/vision insurance, paid time off, 401k.
