This role requires a hands-on financial leader with strong project-based accounting expertise, operational insight, and the ability to balance strategic financial leadership with day-to-day accounting management. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, forward-thinking, and highly organized, with a passion for improving processes, leveraging technology, and implementing innovative solutions—including AI and automation tools—to enhance financial visibility, efficiency, and decision-making across the organization. Key Responsibilities Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, job costing, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting Manage and enhance financial processes related to WIP reporting, percentage-of-completion accounting, project cost tracking, and revenue recognition Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management initiatives Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable financial regulations and reporting standards Partner with operations and project management teams to analyze project performance, profitability, and financial risk Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial policies Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, banking institutions, and other financial partners Identify opportunities to improve accounting systems, automate workflows, and strengthen reporting accuracy through technology and system integration Evaluate and implement modern financial tools, cloud-based systems, automation platforms, and AI-driven solutions to improve operational efficiency and forecasting Lead, mentor, and develop accounting personnel while promoting accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement Qualifications Minimum of 8+ years of accounting and finance experience with a strong background in project-based accounting and cost accounting Proven experience with job costing, WIP schedules, percentage-of-completion accounting, and construction or project-driven financial operations Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management Experience leading and developing accounting teams in a fast-paced business environment Proficiency with financial software systems and the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and platforms Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously CPA designation preferred Background in public accounting Experience with enterprise and cloud-based accounting platforms
Pay:
