Do you enjoy building financial processes, improving systems, and partnering with leadership to drive business performance? This could be the right next step. We are seeking a Controller to join a growing organization in Indianapolis. This role reports directly to the President and plays a critical part in financial strategy, process improvement, and team leadership . Why Join Competitive compensation + annual bonus opportunity Medical, dental, and vision insurance + HSA match 401(k) with company match Company-paid life insurance Paid time off + holidays Growth and advancement opportunities 24/7 virtual healthcare access Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Leadership Lead monthly close process and prepare accurate, timely financial statements Oversee job costing, WIP schedules, and project profitability analysis Manage cash flow forecasting (weekly + long-range) Develop and monitor annual budgets Serve as a key financial advisor to executive leadership Process Improvement & Operations Evaluate and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and financial systems Partner cross-functionally with operations, project management, and purchasing Implement scalable processes to support company growth Ensure compliance, audit readiness, and financial accuracy Job Costing & Project Profitability Own and enhance WIP reporting accuracy Partner with Project Managers to track estimated vs. actual costs Identify margin risks early and drive corrective actions Strengthen cost tracking and financial visibility across projects Leadership & Team Development Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff Build structure, accountability, and clarity across financial functions Provide data-driven insights to support business decisions Qualifications 7+ years of experience in accounting or finance , with strong construction accounting background Proven expertise in job costing and WIP reporting Experience leading and developing a team Strong background in process improvement and system optimization Advanced skills in QuickBooks (or ERP systems) and Excel Solid understanding of financial reporting, cash flow, and internal controls Experience with inventory or manufacturing accounting is a plus Additional Information Many of our clients utilize E-Verify as part of their hiring process.
