Job Description

Global Harvest Foods is a national manufacturer in the bird feeding industry with a rich 40+-year history of delighting many "A" list retailers with our branded and private label product lines. Our manufacturing & distribution facilities are located strategically throughout the United States to provide our retail partners with the highest quality products and optimized service levels. We have an outstanding opportunity for a plant Controller to join our team in our flagship Reynolds, IN facility. In this newly created role, the plant controller will be a key member of the site management team and will partner closely with other leaders to improve cost analysis, decision making, and processes within the facility. Reporting to the VP, Finance, the plant controller will work on-site to drive a culture of data driven accountability and will have strong influence within operations as they develop reporting and metrics to properly guide the business and drive margin improvements. Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Other aspects may be assigned:
Cost Accounting Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs (materials, labor, overhead) Maintain standard costs and update them regularly Perform variance analysis (actual vs. standard costs) Analyze inventory valuation and cost of goods sold (COGS) Support capital expenditure analysis including tracking of savings after project completion. Financial Reporting Develop daily/weekly/monthly KPI reporting Support plant-level profit and loss (P&L) statements Ensure compliance with accounting standards (like GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) ) Assist with corporate reporting requirements Inventory Management Track raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods Reconcile inventory accounts and investigate discrepancies Oversee physical inventory counts and cycle counts Budgeting & Forecasting Develop OH spending budgets and forecasts Monitor spending and compare against budget Support the capital expenditure budgeting process Provide financial insights to improve cost efficiency Internal Controls & Compliance Ensure adherence to company policies and financial controls Support audits (internal and external) Identify and mitigate financial risks
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field. 2-5+ years of accounting experience (manufacturing preferred) Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles Proficiency in ERP systems and experience with RedZone and PowerBI a plus Strong organizational skills Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, and Outlook Analytical and problem-solving skills Attention to detail Strong communication and collaboration abilities Understanding of manufacturing processes Familiarity with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma concepts a plus
