Director of Finance (Fully Onsite)

South Bend, Indiana Salary:
$80,000 – $87,000 annually About the Opportunity Our client is seeking a collaborative and forward-thinking Director of Finance to lead the organization's financial operations and provide strategic guidance to leadership. This role is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and partnering with teams across the organization. Technical accounting knowledge is important, but success in this position will be driven by creativity, adaptability, and the ability to think outside the box. This is a fully onsite opportunity based in South Bend, Indiana . Key Responsibilities Lead the organization's budgeting process, financial planning, and ongoing forecasting activities. Oversee general accounting functions, including month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliations. Prepare and present accurate financial reports, analyses, and recommendations to executive leadership. Monitor organizational performance through budgeting, variance analysis, and KPI reporting. Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies while maintaining strong internal controls. Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, systems, and operational efficiencies. Collaborate with department leaders to support strategic planning and informed business decisions. Assist with audits, cash flow management, and other financial initiatives as needed. Serve as a trusted business partner who can navigate challenges with a positive, solutions-oriented mindset. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting or finance experience . Strong background in budgeting, financial reporting, and general accounting. Experience preparing financial statements and managing month-end close processes. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems.
