Job Description

We are looking for an Assistant Controller to provide financial leadership, strengthen reporting accuracy, and deliver meaningful analysis that supports business decisions across the organization in Winamac, Indiana. This position combines hands-on financial oversight with forward-looking planning, helping leaders understand performance, cash needs, and profitability trends. The role works closely with operations and accounting partners to turn complex data into clear, actionable insight in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Produce monthly financial reporting packages for leadership, board stakeholders, and lending partners, ensuring information is timely, accurate, and decision-ready.
  • Direct forecasting, budgeting, and variance review activities to highlight performance trends, risks, and opportunities across the business.
  • Evaluate pricing, margins, and profitability by customer, product line, and market segment to support stronger commercial decisions.
  • Build financial models and business cases that guide capital spending, operational improvements, and strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with plant and operational leaders to explain how production activity, yield, and cost drivers affect financial results.
  • Strengthen the monthly close and reporting cycle by coordinating with accounting partners and improving alignment between operational data and financial outcomes.
  • Maintain short-term cash flow projections and assist with lender-related reporting, covenant tracking, and liquidity planning.
  • Use Epicor, Excel, and reporting tools such as Power BI to improve data visibility, automate reporting where practical, and identify process gaps affecting accuracy.
  • Create and maintain operational performance reporting, including daily and periodic metrics that help management monitor efficiency and cost performance.
