The Vice President for Finance serves as the Foundation's chief financial officer and strategic financial leader and is a key member of the Executive Team. This role provides leadership across finance, investments, audit, compliance, and risk management while serving as a trusted advisor to the President/CEO.
The Vice President is responsible for ensuring financial sustainability, operational excellence, disciplined stewardship of Foundation assets, and the financial infrastructure necessary to support campaign-scale fundraising, endowment growth, and long-term organizational performance. This position serves as the executive liaison to the Finance Committee and Audit & Risk Management Committee and will support the Investment and Executive Committees.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the chief architect of the Foundation and Alumni Association's financial strategy in support of long-term growth, campaign execution, and institutional priorities.
Lead all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, gift processing, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
Develop and maintain dynamic multi-year financial forecasts, campaign models, and long-term financial strategies supporting asset growth, endowment performance, capital projects, and organizational sustainability.
Translate complex financial data into actionable insights, dashboards, and reporting for executive leadership, Board committees, and strategic decision-making.
Ensure timely, accurate, and transparent financial reporting aligned with Board, audit, and regulatory expectations.
Oversee liquidity, reserves, internal controls, financial risk management, and enterprise stress testing to ensure long-term financial stability.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS
regulations, audit standards, and all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Lead the annual audit process, relationships with external auditors, and the development and enforcement of financial policies and procedures.
Oversee financial systems strategy, including optimization and integration of Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT and Raiser's Edge NXT, while improving automation, reporting efficiency, and data integrity.
Eliminate reliance on manual processes and shadow systems through disciplined operational and reporting practices.
Conduct financial modeling and ROI analysis related to campaign investments, strategic initiatives, real estate, and long-term organizational planning. QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in accounting or a related field
At least 5 years of experience in accounting or a similar industry
CPA license
COMPENSATION
Compensation will be negotiable based upon education & experience
