Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Automotive Controller to lead our financial operations within the automotive division. This pivotal role involves overseeing all accounting functions, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and providing strategic financial insights to support operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting principles, regulatory reporting, and financial management, with a passion for driving efficiency and accuracy in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Manage all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and governmental accounting standards. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and account reconciliation procedures to maintain accurate financial records. Oversee cash management activities, including forecasting, cash flow analysis, and banking relationships. Prepare detailed financial reports, statements, and regulatory filings to support internal decision-making and external reporting needs. Implement and maintain accounting software systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and other financial management tools to streamline processes. Lead budgeting efforts, financial analysis, and forecasting initiatives to support strategic planning. Ensure adherence to internal controls and audit requirements by maintaining comprehensive documentation of financial transactions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and ensure accurate data entry and reporting. Qualifications Proven experience in corporate accounting with a strong understanding of non-profit, governmental, or public accounting environments preferred. Extensive knowledge of SOX compliance, IFRS standards, GAAP principles, and regulatory reporting requirements. Demonstrated expertise in financial concepts such as double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, balance sheet reconciliation, and account analysis. Proficiency with accounting software. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights clearly through financial report writing. Experience managing accounts payable/receivable processes and cash management activities efficiently. Excellent understanding of technical accounting practices such as payroll processing and general ledger reconciliation. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.
